Ark Putney Academy opened in September 2012 as part of the Ark network in the London Borough of Wandsworth. We are a mixed school with 900 students, ranging from year 7 through to our successful sixth form.


We are now looking to appoint a Head of PE to ensure excellent teaching and learning takes place.


The PE department has excellent facilities including a 3G pitch, a Sports England state of the art sports hall, inside and outside gyms plus a dance studio.

All PE is taught on site. The department offers BTEC Sport at KS4 and Sport & Fitness at L3.


Our ideal candidate will:

·         Design an engaging and challenging curriculum that inspires students to appreciate the subjects and their application

·         Have experience of teaching BTEC or A level to L3

·         Be responsible for teaching girls PE

·         Have had significant impact on student attainment

·         Be able to motivate and challenge learners of all abilities

·         Have the resolve and enthusiasm to make a real difference to the lives of students

·         Be committed to Ark Putney’s ethos of high expectations

Salary: Ark Main 1 to Ark Upper 5: £32,960 to £52,976 depending

on experience plus TLR 1a £8290

Start date: 1 September 2022
