Salary: Pay Scale: Pay Points: Ark Main 1 to Ark Upper 5, £32,962 to £52,977 depending on experience plus TLR 1a £8,290

Ark Putney Academy opened in September 2012 as part of the Ark network in the London Borough of Wandsworth. We are a mixed school with 900 students, ranging from year 7 through to our successful sixth form. Our professional development offering is tailor based on the needs of the teacher and department to ensure everyone achieves their full potential. We also take the wellbeing of our staff seriously as we recognise that teaching can be a challenging profession. So staff receive regular rewards and recognition for effort.
We’re now looking to appoint a Head of Sport to ensure excellent teaching and learning takes place.
The PE department has excellent facilities including a 3G pitch, a Sports England state of the art sports hall, inside and outside gyms plus a dance studio. All PE is taught on site. The department offers BTEC Sport at KS4 and Sport & Fitness at L3.
Our ideal candidate will:
Design an engaging and challenging curriculum that inspires students to appreciate the subjects and their application
Have experience of teaching BTEC or A level to L3
Have had significant impact on student attainment
Be able to motivate and challenge learners of all abilities
Have the resolve and enthusiasm to make a real difference to the lives of students
Be committed to Ark Putney’s ethos of high expectations
