One of the biggest problems facing secondary schools in the UK is the shortage of maths, science and language teachers. At the same time, there is a colossal waste of talent as people who are reaching the end of one successful career want to do something meaningful.

Now Teach was set up in 2016 to encourage people who have already had one successful career to retrain as teachers. These people will start a movement of senior professionals re-deploying their skills in the classroom and teaching the children who need it most. Now Teach exists to find them and help them become formidable teachers.

The Recruitment Coordinator role is a critical position in our organisation. The individual will be responsible for supporting the recruitment team hit its ambitious targets.

Salary: £24,000 full time (+11% employer pension contribution)

We are looking for a detail-oriented and target driven Recruitment Coordinator who is committed to Now Teach’s vision. The post-holder will be primarily responsible for the operational support of all aspects relating to candidate recruitment and retention. The post-holder will ensure that all processes are carried out as smoothly as possible at scale, with excellent customer service as a key priority.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and retention

• Manage candidates assigned to you through a timely, candidate focused recruitment process each year to hit the ambitious Now Teach targets for growth
• Build good relationships with assigned candidates by assisting them through the recruitment process, primarily via phone calls
• Support the establishment of an efficient and scalable recruitment process that will find successful candidates to join the Now Teach programme
• Ensure all written and verbal communication is supportive of the vision, culture and brand of Now Teach and contribute to a culture of excellent customer service within the team
• Update salesforce as necessary to support reporting and organisational decision making
• Support the co-ordination of key events e.g. Information Evenings and school experience and ensure they achieve the desired effect of enthusing and compelling audiences to become Now Teachers
• Screen and assess candidates against Now Teach criteria

Person Specification

Essential

• Commitment to Now Teach’s mission.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility: the ability to adapt to a changing, growing organisation and be self-motivated.

Desirable

• Previous work experience in the field of recruitment, specifically with a focus on experienced hire recruitment.
• Graduate / degree-level.
