Academic Mentor for Literacy
Ark Bentworth Primary Academy is a non-selective
school serving children of all abilities. Our commitment is to know every pupil
as an individual, and to foster the principles of team spirit, responsibility
and care for others.
We are now looking to recruit an Academic
Mentor
who is committed to providing learning
support to pupils and small groups who need it the most. We need exceptional people
who will be inspirational role models to our pupils and work with both teachers
and the wider school community to establish a supportive and nurturing learning
environment in which children make rapid academic progress.
This is a
great opportunity for those wishing to pursue a career in primary teaching and
could lead to the opportunity of training to be a teacher with the Ark Teacher
Training programme www.arkteachertraining.org in 2022 -
23. Our recent Academic Mentors have
successfully gained a place on the programme and are now working towards
Qualified Teaching Status with us. We
invest in our teachers as they aspire to continually develop their practice and
become outstanding practitioners and leaders.
You will additionally benefit from a custom
program of online training via Liverpool Hope University. This will be one week of training for
qualified teachers and two weeks for Graduates.
During the training you will take part in live group sessions covering
modules including: Behaviour Management, Peer Assessment, Planning and
Assessment as well as subject specific content.
Our
ideal candidate will:

experience working with young people in a paid or voluntary capacity

have a
strong academic background in English and Mathematics
·
have the
desire and enthusiasm to help deliver outstanding teaching

be committed to Ark Bentworth’s ethos of high

have the resolve to make a real difference to the
lives of pupils

staff Pay scale 3, £22,607 pro rata £19,359.47
Hours: 36 hours per week, term time
only
Contract: Fixed Term Contract; Contract end
