Ark Charter Academy are recruiting for 2 posts- ‘Pastoral Support Worker- Behaviour’ for two fixed term, temporary positions to ensure the good behaviour of all pupils is maintained on the academy site.
The appointed ‘Pastoral Support Worker- Behaviour’ will be responsible for roaming school corridors to prevent internal truancy and oversee 2-hour catch-up sessions each day after school hours in line with school behaviour procedure. To help establish a supportive and nurturing learning environment in which children make good academic progress
Key Responsibilities
To help create an effective, safe and purposeful learning environment.
Punctuality and attendance
· To facilitate safe and timely movement of pupils around the school
· To ensure pupils attend all lessons and arrive on time
· To assist other members of staff in ensuring pupils remain in lessons, or where necessary remove them from lessons
Out of class supervision
· To patrol the school site and ensure pupil safety and security at all times
· To carry out before and after school supervision
· To supervise the entry and exit of pupils from the site
· To alert the Premises Manager to problems of rubbish or spillage and/or issues around the site
Pupil involvement and behaviour management
· To encourage pupils to participate in extracurricular activities in the school
· To liaise with other members of staff with reference to pupils and any difficulties
Outcomes and Activities
· To improve the attendance rates of pupils within the academy
· To improve the punctuality of pupils, specifically in relation to prompt arrival at lessons
· To improve the overall behaviour of academy pupils
Other
· To undertake various other responsibilities as directed by the Principal.
· To undertake cover for lessons as and when required.
