PRINCIPAL – ARK CHARTER ACADEMY

When Charter joined the network in 2009 just 3% of pupils had achieved 5 good GCSEs. Over time results have been transformed and last year 64% of pupils achieved a grade 9 – 4, including English and Maths - above the national average.

Charter Academy is a real community school, closely located in walking distance of two Ark primary schools and a private nursery. In 2015 Ark Charter Academy was also a winner of the national Pupil Premium Award recognizing its achievement in the sustained improvement of outcomes for its most disadvantaged students. With a new school building opened in 2010 and building work starting again as we prepare to move from a four-form entry intake to a six-form entry school, Ark Charter is well resourced and ready to grow.

We are looking for a Principal to lead the next chapter of Ark Charter’s journey. As a creative and tenacious leader, you will build consistent levels of excellence across the school and continue to get great results throughout the whole school. You will hold exceptionally high expectations for all pupils and give them every opportunity to succeed.

There is much to be proud of at Ark Charter Academy. As we enter the next phase of our development, we need to build on these successes and embrace future challenges.
