Exciting opportunity to join a pioneering new school in north London.  

 

We are recruiting GCSE tutors in core GCSE subjects (English Language, English Literature, Maths, Sciences) to support our Year 11 pupils in preparing for their GCSEs. Sessions will have clear aims around closing specific gaps in understanding or practicing specific skills.

In recruiting for a GCSE tutor we are seeking the following from applicants:

·         A degree in a relevant subject and good A levels, or the equivalent

·         Experience of tutoring or teaching pupils and preparing them for GCSE qualifications

Contract: Fixed term contract until June 2019 (with the opportunity for extension)
Working pattern:
Minimum 3 / Maximum 10 hours per week. Hours will be agreed in advance with the successful candidate(s). Term Time only (39 weeks per year)

Subject Tutoring

To tutor small groups of pupils in core GCSE subjects.

·         Plan sessions relevant to outcomes agreed with Head of Department

·         Deliver sessions with small groups of pupils and 1:1, targeted at specific areas for improvement, including exam skills, subject knowledge and skill development

·         Report to Heads of Department and Subject Teachers regarding pupil progress

Person Spec: GSCE Tutor – varied subjects (part time)

 

Qualification Criteria

·         Qualified to at least degree level

·         At least B grades at A-level in the subjects to be tutored

 

Experience

·         Evidence of being, or having the potential to be, an outstanding tutor of the subject.

·         Up to date knowledge in the curriculum area

·         An understanding of what an outstanding education looks like in the classroom
