Ark Academy is an all-through school based in Wembley, set against the backdrop of the iconic Wembley Stadium, with excellent transport links.

We are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), who will provide specific and direct support to children with Special Educational needs or a Disability (SEND) in the English department, ensuring that these children make good progress in the mainstream curriculum.  You will work alongside the SENCo and class teachers to provide in-class support and small-group teaching in Key Stage 3-4.

A calm and patient manner is essential, as is a nurturing approach. Prior knowledge of the English curriculum would be favorable. A good understanding of the academy’s teaching and learning and behaviour policies are desirable, and specific training will be provided to support you in the role.  Liaising with the SENCo, class teachers and the parents of the children will all form part of your role.

This role would suit an applicant interested in pursuing teacher training, or someone dedicated to the small-group teaching of children with SEND.

As a member of Ark Academy you will receive support and professional development geared towards excellence.

Our successful behaviour policies treat student behaviour not as the responsibility of individual teachers, but of the entire school.  This ensures as a member of Ark Academy, your time is never wasted dealing with discipline. Our students know what is expected of them, allowing students to focus on learning and our staff to focus on what they do best.

Ark is one of the UK's most successful school groups with a network of 35 schools in 4 locations across the country, it is an international charity transforming lives through education. As a central part of the network, our staff can expect:

gym memberships, discounts at major retailers and travel loans
