English Oracy Lead Teacher

A great opportunity for an ambitious and motivated lead teacher who wants to make a lasting difference to the community they serve.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Ark Alexandra Academy following approval from the DfE for a merger of Ark Helenswood and Ark William Parker from September 2019, both previously single sex schools, which will come together as one co-educational school.  Both schools have worked well together and have achieved impressive results in their combined Sixth Form: top 15% nationally for progress.

We believe education is transformational.

We invest in our staff and professional development is a high priority and an integral part of our culture. We currently dedicate protected time to training sessions on a weekly basis. We train, develop and support our teachers from trainee teachers and NQTs to Vice Principal.

We are seeking a lead teacher for oracy who is enthusiastic, energetic and ambitious to join our well qualified, committed staff. You will be joining an English Department who are determined to deliver outstanding teaching and learning in order that we achieve excellent academic results for our students. Alongside working in your subject department, you will also have the opportunity to lead and deliver enrichment activities after school.

As the ideal candidate you will:

·         have an unrelenting commitment to raising attainment in a challenging environment

·         an unwavering determination to work with students of all abilities

·         have excellent organisational and management skills

·         have a resilient character and a strong personal drive

·         be committed to continually improving your classroom practice

Alexandra Academy is part of Ark, an international charity and one of the UK’s most successful multi-academy trusts, with a network of 38 schools in 4 locations across the country. Benefits of being part of the Ark network include:

·         Network-wide events with Ark colleagues, held by the best minds in education

·         Bespoke training designed for teachers at crucial stages in their careers
