Ark INA - Principal

The role

Isaac Newton Academy seeks a creative and tenacious leader; someone ready to make our great school truly exceptional.

We are oversubscribed, were graded ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2018, hold a track record of excellent outcomes and have a dedicated and ambitious team of staff.   In September 2020 the academy will be full in all key stages, from nursery through to 18 years.  The all through nature of the academy presents a significant scope to develop the pupils academically and personally.  This is a rare opportunity to lead an exceptional, all-through school entering the next phase of its development.

At this pivotal stage in our development; we offer an exciting time for a new leader to join us.  You will be a creative and tenacious leader, holding exceptionally high expectations for all students.   Sharing the belief that an excellent education is central to transforming lives and ensuring every student is given the opportunity to succeed.

We are a non-denominational, non-selective school, welcoming students of all backgrounds from the local community. Our secondary school opened in state-of-the-art accommodation in 2012 with its inaugural cohort of 180 year 7 students. In 2014 the primary phase of the academy opened to 90 reception-aged pupils and the sixth form opened in 2017.

Isaac Newton Academy is part of the Ark network of schools, one of the largest and most successful multi-academy trusts in the country. Ark is renowned for its approach to staff development, with high quality training provided at every level for both teaching and non-teaching staff. Leaders within Ark benefit from being able to draw upon the resources and expertise of the network. They also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other school leaders and to feed into the development of excellent practice beyond their own school.

Ark has developed a number of successful programmes and tools to support the cultivation of excellence including world class curricula through its English and Maths Mastery programmes. This year the Great Teacher Rubric has been launched. This tool is a driver for teacher development, and we believe all teachers, from novice to master, will benefit immensely from it. It is a hugely exciting time for anyone considering joining our network.

We are keen to hear from successful school leaders seeking a new challenge.
