Thinking about a career in teaching or wanting to develop your career in classroom support? Join Ark Tindal as a Classroom Co-teacher – the perfect start to a successful and rewarding career.
The role of a Classroom Co-teacher is perfect for someone who wants to become a teacher, is considering teaching as a career or who has experience working in an educational setting and would like to take this to the next level. It provides a strong foundation for anyone who wants to learn how to teach and build transformational relationships with pupils. The role would also support an application to the Ark Teacher Training programme, which has been graded as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. We know that undertaking a year in this role can be immensely beneficial for your teacher training.
Our vision at Ark Tindal is to provide an exceptional education that inspires all children to flourish into confident, successful and well-rounded individuals. We operate a three-teacher model across two classes and have a strong focus on character development and pastoral well-being as well as the academic. We are a small primary school which enables us to know all the children and their families. We offer support to the community, and we hold regular events which enable parents and carers to share in the life of the school and in their children’s learning.
Ark Tindal is a nurturing, exciting and innovative place to learn and to teach. "Team Tindal" is a strong community, and our staff see themselves as one big family. We take staff wellbeing seriously; there are regular staff social activities and individual catch-ups with line managers– we do what we can to support our team. Celebrating success is a big part of our life at Ark Tindal and there is a real culture of praise amongst staff. We are committed to the development of our staff and have an extensive professional development offering which enables us to work to our highest potential.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Co-teachers to join our committed team in each of our year groups, making a real impact on the outcomes of our pupils. This is a great opportunity for someone with prior experience of teaching or supporting pupils, or for those who are looking for experience before undertaking teacher training. We are looking for colleagues with passion and enthusiasm for developing pupils and in return, we can offer support and guidance to develop your skillset for a career in teaching. Our Co-teachers will work alongside teaching staff, supporting our staff in delivering action plans to close gaps in learning, particularly in reading, for individuals and small groups of pupils most affected by the instabilities of the last two years, helping them to make accelerated progress and reach their potential.
Ideal candidates will:
· have experience working with young people or adults in a paid or voluntary capacity
· be able to lead extra-curricular activities
· have a strong academic background in English and Mathematics (at least a C grade at GCSE or equivalent)
· have the desire and enthusiasm to help deliver outstanding teaching, who may wish to progress onto our Teacher Training programme
This is an exciting opportunity to join a strong staff community at Tindal and play a pivotal role making a real impact on the outcomes of our pupils.
