Ark Academy is an all-through school based in Wembley, set against the backdrop of the iconic Wembley Stadium, with excellent transport links.
We are currently seeking volunteers to read with children who have low literacy levels, or who have Special Educational Needs or a Disability (SEND). Volunteers will be trained to work with children to enable them to make good progress with reading. You will work alongside the SENCo to provide 1:1 reading to a small number of children per week.
A calm and patient manner is essential, as is a nurturing approach. Liaising with the SENCo, and the librarians, will all form part of your role.
