Contract: Permanent

Start date: As soon as possible

Salary : Ark Support Staff Band 7 (Outside London) £25,409 - £31,099 (£24,798 - £30,351 pro rata) 

Closing date: Monday 02nd  January at 9:00am

We are looking for an experienced Attendance Officer to join our busy attendance team at Ark Boulton Academy. This is a newly designed team with the school adding capacity to support the needs of our school on its improvement journey.  This role will be an integral part of the Safeguarding & Welfare Team.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a school environment and have an understanding of the issues that may affect a student’s ability to attend school.

 

The Role:

The role will involve home visits and early help assessments. Knowledge of the fast track/ spotlight process is desirable but not essential. You will have excellent communication, numeracy and literacy skills. Have excellent IT skills including Word, Excel and ideally experience using Bromcom and Impero Edaware. You will have the ability to prioritise tasks and manage your own workload to achieve deadlines, often managing conflicting priorities.

 

The successful candidate will hold exceptionally high expectations for all pupils and give them every opportunity to succeed.

You will:

·         Experience of establishing effective, appropriate relationships with a variety of young people at the relevant age and their families.

·         Experience of working with young people.

·         Experience of working with multi-agencies.

·         Experience of dealing with challenging young people and managing difficult situations calmly and confidently.

·         An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

·         Works well as part of a team

·         Able to analyse and interpret data

·         Able to balance competing priorities and use own initiative to meet deadlines

·         Experienced and effective communicator with a wide range of stakeholders

·         Experience of working in a similar role in a school environment (desirable)

·         Experience of working with management information systems (Bromcom or similar MIS)

·         Excellent IT skills including word and excel

·         Good administrative and organisational skills

·         You will have excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
