an exciting stage in our development. Ark Evelyn Grace Academy is a mixed, non-selective,
11-18 secondary school in Lambeth. The Academy opened in 2008 and moved into
its award-winning building on Shakespeare Road in 2010. Evelyn Grace Academy
was judged as ‘good’ by OFSTED in 2017 and behavior was said to be
‘exceptionally strong’.
In September 2017, I
took over as Principal, having previously co-founded an ‘outstanding’ ARK
school in North London: Ark Academy. I will work with staff at Evelyn Grace to
secure its position as the school of choice in the local community. Together we
will ensure that students secure the highest possible standards so they can go
on and compete for the very best positions in their chosen career.

The Role
To provide outstanding teaching and learning of Media Studies to secure excellent levels of achievement for all students
To collaborate effectively with other members of the department to secure outstanding practice and produce high quality resources
The successful candidate would also ideally be able to teach Religious Studies, Sociology or English
Key responsibilities
Provide a nurturing classroom and school environment that helps students to develop as learners
Consistently plan, resource and deliver lessons that allow stimulating and enjoyable learning to take place
Ensure that all students are given quality feedback in order to make rapid and sustained progress
Help to maintain/establish excellent standards of behaviour for learning across the academy
Outcomes and activities
Teaching and Learning
In discussion with the Head of Department, plan and prepare engaging Media lessons based on agreed schemes of work
Plan engaging Media lessons that enable students to enjoy their learning and make excellent progress
Teach engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and improve student attainment Use regular assessments to monitor progress, set targets and determine appropriate intervention
Maintain regular and productive communication with parents, to report on progress, sanctions, rewards and to relay other relevant information
Maintain accurate student data that can be used to make teaching more effective
Identify the intervention needs of students and appropriate strategies to improve attainment

Help create a strong academy community reflective of our key values of excellence, endeavour and self-discipline · Support the development of a culture that is committed to high achievement and where the learning of students is our constant focus
Help provide opportunities through learning for students to develop the qualities of resilience, responsibility, integrity, curiosity, confidence and eloquence

Qualified to degree level and above
