Working pattern: Full-time (39 weeks – term time only)
Salary: Ark Support Staff pay point 34 (£38,553.17) – pay point 44 (£48,957.13) / Pro-rata pay point 34 (£33,310) – Pay Point 44 (£42,299)

We are excited to be recruiting for an Educational Psychologist to join the school team working under the leadership of Executive Principal, Caz Brasenell. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to offer a variety of mental health interventions to children and young people in our school, including counselling and support for our children, many of whom are vulnerable and have SEND. In addition, this role will also work flexibly and across several of the other Ark Schools in Birmingham. As such, they will co-report to our Regional Director, Gail Peyton.
In this role, you will lead on:
- Consultations for school staff
- Whole school staff workshops
- Input for Parent/ Carer groups
Please note: the role will be based in Ark Kings, though there may be some hybrid working available. You must be able to travel across Birmingham to other Ark Schools.
The successful candidate will have:
- Completed professional training course as an educational psychologist recognised by the British Psychological Society
- Experience working as an Educational Psychologist with children / young people and their families and working in partnership with schools, other agencies and voluntary services
- An understanding of the skills needed to provide emotional and therapeutic support to young children in schools
- Previous experience of using a range of assessment techniques with children and young people
- A track record of delivering exceptional performance and quality working within high performing teams
- An understanding of the Code of Practice and SEND legislation as it applies to the work of educational psychologists
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate and influence others through both verbal and written media and the ability to build effective partnerships
- Currently registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a practitioner psychologist
